Processing personal data

Advocatenkantoor Simmelink B.V. processes personal data. What data these are depends on the agreed service and the purpose of processing the personal data in question. These personal data may include your name and address details, your bank account number, your gender, your date and place of birth. These data will mostly be provided to us by you yourself.

In principle, we do not process special personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) and we do not process BSN. We only process your BSN if there is a legal basis for doing so.

As for other processing of personal data by our firm, we process personal data necessary for the provision of services agreed with you, including sending documents and invoices of work. For the purpose of these services, we request the necessary data with your consent. What data these are depends on the agreed service. These personal data may include: your name and address details, your gender, your Citizen Service Number (BSN) and other details appearing on your ID card, your date and place of birth, your marital status, the personal data of your family or relatives. Sometimes there is also a legal requirement to verify your data, such as when legalizing your signature.

Purpose of data processing

Advocatenkantoor Simmelink B.V. collects or uses your personal data for the following purposes:

The performance of our legal services, which in any case includes advice, support, assistance in proceedings;
Allowing you to post and exchange information with us;
contacting you in connection with the performance of our services, offers and for service purposes and to inform you of changes to our products and/or services;
Analyze, improve, secure and/or maintain our website(s) and technical systems;
Compliance with our legal obligations;
Conducting market research and compiling management information to align our (business) strategy, products and services;
Handling your application or registration for a recruitment event;
Managing a registry to check whether a new client who registers has not fulfilled his (payment) obligations with our firm in the past;

Basis of processing personal data

Sharing personal data with third parties

Advocatenkantoor Simmelink only shares your personal data with third parties to the extent necessary to provide services in accordance with the aforementioned purposes. This includes, for example, the provision of services by another lawyer, the performance of an expert examination or the engagement of another third party on behalf of and at the instruction of Advocatenkantoor Simmelink, such as an IT supplier, but also the provision of your personal data in connection with (legal) proceedings or correspondence with the other party.

In addition, Law Office Simmelink may provide personal data to a third party, such as a regulator or another body vested with public authority, to the extent that there is a legal obligation to do so.

A processing agreement will be concluded with the third party processing your personal data on behalf of and at the instruction of Law Office Simmelink, whereby that third party is also obliged to comply with the AVG.
